1950's Family Home Renovation

When Lindi Reynolds discovered this 1930s Surrey property with her husband Clive, it was the expansive garden that first caught their eye. Having grown up on a family farm in Natal, South Africa, Lindi’s deep connection to nature inspired her to create a home where indoor and outdoor spaces blend effortlessly.

The original house, divided into small, disconnected rooms, underwent a complete reconfiguration. A side extension introduced two en-suite bathrooms and new ground-floor study and playroom spaces; while internal walls were opened up to create flowing, light-filled rooms with uninterrupted views of the garden.

Subtle variations in wall colour guide the eye gently from one space to the next, creating a cohesive palette that responds beautifully to shifting light. “The colour story must work from every angle,” says Lindi, reflecting her belief that harmony and continuity are key to good design.

The finished home is refined yet welcoming—perfect for both family living, work and entertaining. With her signature love of colour, texture, and pattern, Lindi has transformed a once-dated property into a space that feels both timeless and full of life.
