Natalie Day

Semi-Abstract Artist

Semi-abstract artist Natalie Day’s derives her creativity from the natural world around her and offers us rich landscapes to escape into. The ancient sites and abandoned industrial relics scattered across the Cornish landscape serve as both inspiration and source material for Natalie’s abstract landscape paintings. She is drawn to the visual impact of what has been left behind — what is hidden, what will erode, and what may endure for generations.

By gathering natural earth pigments directly from chosen locations, she hand-processes her own paints to create a tangible connection to place. Each piece tells a story rooted in the land itself, inviting viewers to experience the quiet magic and layered history of Cornwall. Her work offers a compelling and thoughtful finishing touch to any interior—especially for nature lovers and those who appreciate the bond between art and environment.

Showcased Work

The artist’s own words express this beautifully, ‘I make paintings of the land, with the land.’

Natalie completed Falmouth University foundation in 1994 and after a radical overhaul to her life in 2018 started building herself a career as an artist alongside her health professional role as a chiropractor. Natalie is now a full-time artist living and working in Cornwall, painting in her Bude studio and teaching at the St Ives School of Painting, as well as running her own classes locally and online.
