Clare says,“From a young age I was always drawing, painting and sewing at home, later creating one-off punk garments for a shop in Sheffield to support myself through my early Art College years in Derbyshire. I have always been happiest when creating, drawing inspiration from my environment, nature and my travels.”
Alongside her fine art practice, Clare has designed textiles for Liberty and created her own silk scarf collection inspired by Singapore’s heritage shophouses, reflecting her continued dialogue between art, design and place.
During eight years living in Singapore, Clare produced a body of work capturing the city’s colonial architecture and modern skyline, as well as a series of tropical ginger lily paintings. Her work has been purchased by The French Embassy of Singapore, and her clients include diplomats and international banks. She has exhibited in Venice, Colombia, Argentina, Rome and London, was awarded a place at the Artists’ Residency at Château Orquevaux, France in 2023, and recently exhibited at Watts Gallery in the Surrey Hills as one of eight selected women printmakers. Based in Kensington, London, Clare continues to evolve her creative practice and has recently completed private commissions for clients in London and Singapore.
As a trained printmaker, Clare has developed a distinctive mixed-media style, combining painting with mono and lino printmaking, sometimes incorporating collage. Energetic and layered, her work bridges fine art and design. Best known for her internationally recognised Landmark Prints and large-scale canvases, Clare’s pieces bring architectural presence and vibrancy to contemporary interiors.
