Her style is painterly and impressionistic, combining a strong sense of colour and form with an interest in textural effects and abstraction. Jocelyn use textured glass, soft focus, multiple exposure, and camera movement to create images with a fluid, organic feel. She is often drawn to the intimate details to be found in nature that are revealed beyond the normal viewpoint.
She says, ‘My work is about interpretation and suggestion, and inspiration has come from the Impressionist painters including Monet and Van Gogh, and Georgia O’Keeffe’s sensual flowers and abstracts, as well as contemporary photographers Fay Godwin, Paul Kenny, Valda Bailey and Doug Chinnery.’
Jocelyn is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) and has had solo and group exhibitions in London and the South East.
