The artist says, ‘Engaging with ideas of time, memory and landscape I explore notions of entangled pasts, present and futures. Through drawing, painting, print and sculpture my perceptions of these evolving, entwined, sensory relationships are explored.‘
Each painting is a deeply personal exploration of textures and mark making, seeking surfaces rich with aesthetics of time, landscape and memory. Through multiple layers of paint, ink, pastel, charcoal, graphite and occasionally collage, each painting slowly evolves into an entirely unique object. Framing is chosen to accentuate the object’s sense of wholeness, allowing the edges to play a role in the completeness of the work.
Zoë graduated with an MA in Fine Art (distinction) at the University of Gloucestershire in 2023. She is a director of “Walking the Land”, an artist collective linking landscape, community and art through projects, research, exhibitions, installations, writing and shared walks.
