Penthouse Renovation

Set within Cranmer Court – Chelsea’s Art Deco jewel – this top-floor, three-bedroom apartment was fully renovated for an international family who entrusted us with the project from start to finish.

While Cranmer Court’s Art Deco character is most evident in its exterior and communal spaces, the flats themselves are largely unadorned. Our approach was to reintroduce the vernacular subtly and timelessly, using the Art Deco motif of the curve flowing into a straight line. This device both solved complex design challenges posed by the eaves and enhanced character, functionality, and a sense of space throughout.

The renovation was comprehensive. We created a new principal suite through strategic door adjustments and bespoke cabinetry; transformed a disjointed kitchen into a calm, generous space; and integrated a family bathroom elegantly into what was effectively a narrow passageway. Numerous bespoke furniture pieces were designed and crafted, particularly for the principal suite and reception room.

Throughout the apartment, expertly made bespoke cabinetry underpins the transformation, balancing refined craftsmanship with practical design tailored to the clients’ lifestyle.
