ARTIST APPRECIATION INITIATIVE

We recognise that great artwork is central to the success of winning interior design schemes. So, every month we present through our 'Artist Appreciation Initiative' a couple of handpicked artists, whom we admire and would be pleased to see hanging on the walls of our client's homes. We hope that this initiative will bring you joy as we present some of the finest talents in the land. Please also browse our Journal section to find individual posts about each of the artists presented here.

Cat Croxford
We are simply delighted to welcome spirited Woodlands Landscape Artist, Cat Croxford to the Artists Appreciation Initiative. Cat’s artworks, like herself, have a vivacity to them, a sparkle, a ‘joie de vivre’ that invites you in to play, and then when you have entered the space become enveloped in a reassuring warmth of certainty. Cat was born into an artistic family, and somehow that seems obvious when you look at one of her works. You would simply have to have a paint brush or a felt tip in hand from an early age, to be that deft at mark making, to be so comfortable with scale an

Natalie Day
Semi-abstract natural world Artist Natalie Day’s contemporary canvasses are inspired creations that offer depth, interest, character and beauty. Cornish bred Natalie draws her inspiration from the natural world around her and offers us rich landscapes to escape into. The perfect finishing […]

Donovan Stanford
We are thrilled to present Donovan Stanford. Having grown up on the rugged beaches of South Africa, his large scale canvasses echo these magnificent wide open spaces, conveying exquisitely the essence of them. He has the ability to convey through abstract multi media canvasses, the elemental forces of nature. In 2017 Stanford moved to the UK and lives in the Kent countryside with his wife and daughters. With this shift in his view we are certainly looking forward to seeing what comes out of his studio over the next few years. Certainly one to watch!

Zoë Ashbrook
Zoë Ashbrook is an artist inspired by her emotive and sensory responses to the landscape of the natural world. Through texture, colour and mark making she explores the ever changing energy in the light, space and features of the land. Zoë is particularly pulled towards investigating how the process of painting can be used to express those responses to the sense of the history of the land and of passing time.

Clare Haxby
As a trained print maker, Clare has pushed the boundaries of this art form, creating her own iconic mixed media signature style. This combines painting with mono and linoprint making, sometimes incorporating collage into her pieces too. Energetic and vibrant, it’s hard not to stop and stare in appreciation. Best known for her Internationally acclaimed Landmark prints, we are thrilled to present, highly acclaimed, Clare Haxby.

Russell Millner
We are thrilled to present Internationally acclaimed Wildlife and Natural World Photographer, Russell Millner. Growing up in Africa myself, and spoiled with more safari trips than I could count, I know how difficult it is to achieve what Russell does with a camera lense. There’s almost no need to go on Safari if you have one of Millner’s images to take in throughout the day. Technical dexterity in the arts of photography and print, coupled with a deep passion for nature are a winning combination here.

Karen Welsh
We are pleased to present Karen, an extraordinary abstract landscape artist. Karen has been a creative all her life and so her journey into abstraction is well informed. Inspired by the Wiltshire countryside, the creative process starts with gestural marking then layering of paint, concentrating on balancing tonal value with colour harmony. Karen builds on her works until she has achieved the desired outcome.

Cora Harrington
With a first-class degree in Art and Design from the Belfast College of Art and multiple awards behind her name we are absolutely thrilled to present Cora Harrington. She has had her work shown in the Mall Galleries in London on several occasions and her work is held in public and private collections worldwide.

Jocelyn Horsfall
We are thrilled to present, Jocelyn Horsfall, an award-winning fine art photographer, specialising in atmospheric and evocative images inspired by flowers, foliage and the natural world. ‘Nature is good for the soul, and I am looking to capture some of its beauty, serenity and harmony in my work’ says Jocelyn.

Jessie Woodgate
Working from her base in West Hampstead, Jessie Woodgate is an extraordinary water colourist. Her urban landscapes record spell binding snapshots in time of seemingly prosaic human interactions. The dexterity of her medium and the presentation of her subject matter is highly original and utterly captivating.

Tess Chodan
Coming across Tess at the Surrey art show I was transfixed by her beautiful creations for the longest of time. Of course, this is exactly the point of ‘object d’art’ – her pieces are simply stunning creations, sensitively and thoughtfully constructed and the effect is one of pure delight. I dare you not to be enchanted!

Bron Jones
An environmental scientist and a retired teacher, Bron’s love of the environment is infectious. It literally spills over into her atmospheric paintings of her adored Welsh countryside. She says of her art, ‘I use bold, vibrant acrylic pigments, and multi-media in my paintings, with a variety of bolder marks and textures to evoke that sense of place: the ruggedness and wildness of places like the Pembrokeshire coast, the Preseli mountains and the beautiful Brecon Beacons.’

Kasia Clarke
Kasia Clarke’s abstracted landscapes are soulful escapes for the mind and eye that I can’t ever imagine tiring of. Living and working near Reigate, Kasia started her creative career in glass art, but now spends all her time painting. She has trained with abstract artist Nicholas Wilton in his groundbreaking Creative Visionary Program.
