We are thrilled to present the highly acclaimed Clare Haxby

Studio Portrait with Kew Palm house Print + Painting

Clare’s training as a print maker is obvious to see in her work, as each piece carries a fabulous print quality, even though she most often chooses to mix-up her media, in what has become her signature multi-media style. She loves to combine painting with mono and linoprint making, sometimes incorporating collage into her pieces too. Driven to create, Clare is prolific in her production; just head to her instagram page to see what we mean.

Probably best known for her landmark paintings, which all began with her 8 year sojourn in Singapore. Here Clare portrayed some of the most iconic and well loved landmark buildings, such as ‘Keppel Bay’, ‘Peranakan Shop Houses’ and ‘Baba House’ as perfect reflections of their character.  To capture the spirit of such revered landmarks is no small thing as they carry with them so much history and applied association. This success followed her back to the UK, with commissions from some of our own well loved landmarks coming her way. She has as a result immortalised in print;  ‘Hemmingways House’, ‘Fotnums’,’Kew Palm House‘ the ‘Michelin Building’ and ‘The Liberties London Building’.

Throughout lock-down and currently, Clare has been painting English Flowers from her garden for #artistsupportpledge (as seen on IG). She started this series of small paintings to tie in with #BritishFlowersWeek. The paintings she has created for this initiative set up by Matthew Burrows are just £195 for a 30 x 40 small canvas and they sell out in minutes, sometimes seconds after posting them live on IG. You will have to be quick if you want to get your hands on one of these little beauties finding homes around the globe.
